LATE IRON AGE JAR FROM SILCHESTER
This large pottery vessel was probably made about 2000 years ago, just before the Roman invasion of Britain in AD 43. It was found at Silchester during excavations carried out between 1890 and 1909 and is part of a large collection from the site in the care of Reading Museum Service.
