MEDIEVAL JUG FROM THE KENNET

MEDIEVAL JUG FROM THE KENNET

This medieval jug was dredged from the river Kennet before the end of the 19th century. The early ledgers of Reading Museum record that it was deposited on loan in the museum on August 25th 1886 and was later presented to the museum in January 1897. The donor was Alfred Palmer of London Road, Reading, who was a generous benefactor to the Museum and to the University.
